FAQ
How TabAlarm works
TabAlarm is a browser-based utility. It is fast and useful, but it is not a magical replacement for your device’s native alarm app.
Does TabAlarm work if I close the tab?
No. Keep the tab open for the safest experience.
Does it work if my computer sleeps?
Not reliably. Sleep mode can suspend normal browser behavior. Use wake lock when supported and do not rely on the browser for mission-critical wake-ups.
Why do I need to test sound?
Modern browsers can restrict audio playback until the page gets user interaction. Testing sound removes ambiguity before you trust the alarm.
What do notifications do?
Notifications can help when the tab is still open but not focused. They improve visibility, but they are still subject to browser and operating-system behavior.
Can it work offline?
After the site loads, the installed version can cache assets so the interface is available again without a new download. Core timing runs locally in your browser.
Does TabAlarm save alarms?
Yes. Recent alarms, timer state, theme choice, and sound preferences are stored locally in your browser on that device.
